So this is the outfit I'm wearing out tonight (tenatively)
Vintage tartan shirt. American Apparel jeans. J.Crew Desert Boots. Vintage Dior belt. UO Watch
This is the tweed coat with the skinny jeans. Love it!
Add vintage tweed coat and Burberry scarf.
However, this is what I'll probably end up wearing since it's not really could enough to wear the tweed haha...
Add Fink cotton pea coat, from UO.
I don't really have much to say about this. I love the contrast of the volume of the tweed coat and super slim jeans (thanks for the idea 00o00). I wish it weren't 9000 degrees outside and I could wear my little coat but alas I live in Florida haha.
I think I'm going to karaoke tonight! Woo hoo yay!
bye guys :)

shenanigans and such...
Denim blazer, belt, oxfords, all vintage. Shorts, Gap. Shirt, American Eagle. Bow-tie, Ben Sherman. Watch, UO.
My mom, my cousin, Panda, and I had outdoor wine and cocktails this evening. I took a few pictures of one of my new blazers. It's denim! I think this will be good for the spring/summer. It's super light weight and very fitted. I know I said I was planning an editorial but that hasn't actually materialized yet, haha. I'm hoping to have something more fun for the other blazer. I'll keep you guys updated.
bye sex muffins :)

The Trials of my Life...
Tweed overcoat, tartan shirt, v-neck sweater, oxfords, braided belt and bowtie, all vintage. Khakis, Obey. Watch, UO
I found this coat a few years ago and even though I practically swim in it I bought it anyways. I loved the huge lapels and extended length double breasted look, and the tweed... oh the tweed!
I gave it to my mom after I bought it and she said she'd take in the waist for me so that it fit better. Two years later I find the thing hanging in her closet unaltered and decided to just bring it home, haha. My mother is a busy woman so I can't really blame her lol. Plus it's not like I really need a coat like this living in Florida. I guess I just saw this and wanted it regardless of wether or not I need it, oh shopping haha.
I thought maybe if it had a belt it would work. Then I thought maybe I could add one of my own belts. This might be kind of weird to take off when I got wherever I was going though haha... who knows? What do you guys think?
Added faux croc belt and grey leather duffel, both vintage.
Oh, and here's a close up of the bow-tie. I bought it at the Hell's Kitchen flea market in New York. Isn't it sexual? Umm, I mean dignified lol

Oh. My. God.
I woke up super early this morning and couldn't sleep. I first went over to Where The Lights End and looked at pages and pages of beautiful humans only to open up Photobooth and realize that I looked like this hot mess...
bahahahaah! I didn't even know my hair was capable of doing that? I'm definitely wearing it like this all day.
Jesus, I seriously need to pull my life together lol.
Oh and for the record, I am wearing a Snuggie... be jealous... I have warm arms... you don't...
I promise I'll post something fashion related next (I got new vintage blazers, I'm dying). I know my precious readers must be getting tired of my shenanigans... sorry lol
bye loves :)

Hey Look...
My senior honors thesis was published today in the Journal of Pediatric Surgery. I'm finally the author of something besides The Daily Bozo haha. I'm so excited because completing all the research, writing the paper, and actually getting it published took over two years. It was definitely the hardest thing I've ever done. I'm such a clown though, I can't believe they actually published it haha...
Ok, enough about boring medical stuff... two things that are making me laugh today...
1. This
2. a video of me in high school... lol
EDIT: I actually put the wrong video of Ja'mie King (my idol lol) here's the one I meant to post...

On Layering...
Jeans, Levi's. Mock neck shirt, ByCorpus. Oxford shirt, Kohls. Bow-Tie, Marc Jacobs. Belt and shoes, vintage.
Added a vintage corduroy blazer.
Add vintage plaid scarf.
I'm wearing this to go drop off an application to volunteer at the children's hospital and then to the movies later on tonight (I'm seeing Bride Wars! I mean...). Since it's like -90 degrees out I had to do some serious layering. Ugh, let's hope I don't get frost bite.
later :)

Plaid shirt and braided belt, both vintage. Bomber Jacket, Zara. Jeans, Levi's 511. Shoes, Vans.
This is what I wore to the Mickey Avalon concert. I was going to wear something super grungy but I called the guys I was going with and they were both wearing blazers and ties (why I don't know?). So I had a change of plans. I had already been pre-drinking so I can't really describe why I chose these specific pieces but I did (haha). Regardless, I like the way this look turned out.
I wish we had taken a few photos of us the night of the concert because Lauren and my cousin Chelsea both looked super sexual. Lauren wore Givenchy wedges and no pants, enough said. The concert would have been more fun if the place wasn't packed with the typical morons that inhabit the Jacksonville area, however, a few of my UO coworkers showed up which was a nice surprise.
In other news, I have been glued to my computer the past few days following style.com and the Fall 2009 men's shows. I feel like this season has exhibited a lot more wearability than past seasons, probably a result of the recession and crashing retail markets (however, I'm not exactly an economist so don't mind me). Also, there has been a velvet explosion over in Milan. I am somewhat relieved by this bc a few weeks ago style.com declared velvet blazers the worst things of 2008 and I was mortified as I have been sporting mine like it's nobody's business. Clearly, I was just ahead of my time lol.
Lauren suggested that I do a "Runway, My Way" post and I think I'm going to try to do this in the near future! But if it turns out stupid I will save myself the embarrassment and just post about the shows without my personal interpretations.
bye bitches
p.s. why does it feel like Alaska outside?

Costume of the day...
Blue velvet blazer, grey sweater, silk scarf/ascot, boots, and bag, all vintage. Grey skinny jeans, American Apparel. Watch, Urban Outfitters.
I actually dressed for the weather today (haha). I guess this would be what I'm wearing tonight considering I've been inside all day doing laundry and cleaning (i.e. watching tv and eating). When I was putting together this outfit I had an image of the Fall 08 Gucci ads in my head. However, it didn't really turn out like I had imagined haha. Occasionally, I freak out because I have so much crap that I never wear and then I force myself to wear it... that's what happened today.
I found this scarf thing at the thrift store and fell in love with it, however, I had no clue how I would wear it. The colors are really beautiful. I tried to take a close up of it but got more of my gigantic head than of the scarf haha.
Additionally, I think I've only worn these boots twice before even though I really love them. They kind of look like traditional oxfords but in boot form.
Anyways, I hope that you are all having a wonderful tuesday. I am going to hang out with my lover tonight and then I have to work at 4:30AM tomorrow... no, that was not a typo. We're doing inventory tomorrow and I want to kill myself. Of course, since the retail market is crashing I get no hours these days and I have to take what I can get. I can't wait until I'm a doctor and I have the opposite problem. bleh.
In other news, the recent temperature drop is totally ruining my dreams of a grunge themed Mickey Avalon concert outfit. It is supposed to get down to 27 degrees that night! I wish I had a shrunken leather bomber, that would be sexual. I just remembered that we had some women's bomber's at work that fit me pretty well... maybe I will look in to it! Besides these petty sartorial conundrums, I am super excited because Lauren is coming into town on Thursday and I can't wait! Expect another photoshoot!
later guys :)

I almost wore this today...
Plaid short sleeve button down, bow-tie, loafers, and bag, all vintage. Shorts from the Gap.
So I woke up this morning expecting it to be hot out (just like yesterday) and pick out this dashing little number. I was greatly disheartened when I walked out and froze my little stumpy legs off. I immediately ran back inside and bundled up...thus ruining my lovely outfit :(
J.Crew Cardigan, Target Scarf.
I hate Florida weather!
EDIT: Here's a close up of the tie/shirt. I bought the tie at the Hell's Kitchen flea market when I was in New York this summer. I love how it's so skinny and kind of silvery... it makes it speical, I think!

I need this...

Look what I bought...
So I went thrifting yesterday with some of my lovers from Urban and I bought these two ties! I love the super skinny paisley tie because it has a very large graphic print and it's such a thin tie. I think the large paisley mixes nicely with the smaller plaid on the shirt.
Now, this other tie is quite a piece of work lol. I'm not really sure when or where I'll wear it but after I saw it I just had to have it in my collection. It kind of reminds me of something an old woman would wear... or a clown. Who knows hopefully I'll find something to wear it to. I'm not really sure if I like it with this shirt but I figured the thing was so ridiculous it didn't really matter what I wore it with haha.
In other news, I realized that my Mickey Avalon outfit was not very practical as I would probably die of a heat stroke if I wore that thing. Then again I've never been very practical when it comes to picking out clothing... like when I insisted on wearing a turtle neck and cardigan to my third grade field trip to Sea World. I sweated the entire time but I totally loved all the pictures haha. I think I'm going to just wear a grungy slouch t-shirt with skinny jeans and vans. We'll see.

Scarf Special
I'm just posting about the scarf I wore out to karaoke a few nights ago. I took some pictures while I was out in my yard the other day that I thought they really highlighted all the things I love about the scarf, in particular. I bought it a few months ago at the thrift store. I'd like to think it used to belong to some old lady who bought it on a south american hiking expedition, but sadly, I'm sure the story behind it isn't that exciting. Regardless, I still love the coloring and how the pattern looks slightly native american or something (I am 1/8 cherokee Indian, I would know haha).
Sorry I haven't really had any super exciting outfits to post on. I haven't been doing anything except working lately. However, Lauren is coming next week so expect tons of exciting new posts!

What I wore to work... werk
Here I'm wearing a vintage tartan button up, Levi's 511 Alpine jeans, gold watch, and classic lace-up vans. My bag is from American Apparel.
I don't know why I decided to post on this particular outfit... I guess I just like it a lot. I feel very 80's collegiate... and I guess I like that haha. This is the most comfortable shirt ever, especially when I leave it untucked. I loveee it.
Ugh, I'm exhausted from going out last night and then working all day. I need to sleeeeep bc I have a super long shift tomorrow (barf).
bye bitches

Okie Dokie Karaoke
I wore this oversized gray t-shirt, maroon cardigan with gold buttons, multicolor scarf, braided belt, and loafers, all vintage along with my Levi's. The Levi's hadn't been washed in like a week so they were super baggy and made me look like I was wearing parachute pants or something (vomit). I would have had more fun were it not for two select losers that were in attendance. Ugh, my cousin is usually my partner in aural crime, however, due to the presence of said losers she didn't want to sing. However, I'm already practicing for next week. I will be singing with or without her. Prepare Jacksonville.

Sexual Seduction NYE (and the day after)
Ok, so we took over 70 pictures while Lauren was visiting so I'm only posting a few and I still feel like it's too many (haha). I had so much fun while lauren was visiting and I wish she could move in with me! But alas, I'm moving off to another busted location for medical school and she's moving to new york to be as fabulous as possible! She was only able to stay for two days but we had a blast. All of the pictures are from NYE except for the last one, which was from the day after.
Lauren looked so amazing the entire time she was visiting. I could barely even pay attention to what we were doing because I was too busy salivating over her insane fashion sense! On new years eve we went to the masquerade ball at Square One and we had an amazing time drinking our little hearts out, dancing up a storm, and scoping out the hotties haha. The next night we went to a different club and had an equal amount of fun!
On NYE lauren wore a vintage mink coat, YSL ankle boots (I can't breathe when I look at them), Chanel bag, and I'm not sure about her dress, but isn't it GORGEOUS?! Lauren is the most fashionable person on earth! She's coming for the Mickey Avalon concert, expect another photoshoot!
On NYE I wore my blue velvet blazer, black bow-tie, gray sweater, striped button up, and oxfords (all vintage) along with my Levi's and masquerade mask! Lauren and I met like... the Steven Miesel of Jacksonville who kept taking pictures of our feet... we loved it!
The last photo was taken the day after NYE. I'm wearing a vintage corduroy blazer (with elbow patches!), a childrens uniform shirt from Kohl's (haha), Burberry scarf (that a very sexy lady gave me), and an Alexander Olch tie (xmas gift from Lauren!).
Currently, I am slightly inebriated so I don't know if this all makes sense but I will come back when I'm sober and check it (haha)
bye sex machines
EDIT: The tie was Alexander Olch... IDK where I came up with Herkovitch... maybe it's because I love Russia so much... who knows? I'll do a separate post on this tie at a later date.
