I wish Jacksonville would fall off the face of the earth

Tee and cardigan, American Apparel. Shorts, The Gap. Faux croc belt and loafers, vintage. Watch, Urban Outfitters. Glasses, Brooks Brothers.

I wore this out running errands yesterday and then I was too lazy to change before going out so I wore it out to a bar, too haha. I'm really starting to hate Jacksonville. It is seriously a quagmire of conservatism and egregious fashion sense. It's so annoying to go out and never EVER see one person that is remotely well dressed much less stylish and unique. Ughh, woe is me. I guess there are worse things in the world. On another note, I just found out that one of my friends from college got assigned to a client here in Jax for two weeks! So that should be fun. Also, I'm doing brunch with another friend from high school *gasp* on sunday! So I do have a few things to look forward to!

I've seriously been trying to get in shape because summer is just around the corner and I have some seriously cute and seriously short vintage board shorts that I am DYING to wear to some beach/pool party or something. However, they won't be seriously cute on me if I look like a bloated pubescent 14 year old with man boobs. My regimen thus far has been starvation and running everyday. I don't think it is working quick enough so I'm going to have to start going to the gym and using those weird things called weights and a few other torture devices. Hopefully this will pay off and I'll look sexual in time for summer parties. We shall see!

On second thought, I have no friends so I don't know who is going to be hosting these amazing parties I'm imagining in my head. Hopefully, I can make a trip to nyc or something. That would be ideal.

Anyways, I hope you guys all have a wonderful weekend!

Bye LOVES!

On volume and clownery...

So this is the outfit I'm wearing out tonight (tenatively)

Vintage tartan shirt. American Apparel jeans. J.Crew Desert Boots. Vintage Dior belt. UO Watch
This is the tweed coat with the skinny jeans. Love it!

Add vintage tweed coat and Burberry scarf.

However, this is what I'll probably end up wearing since it's not really could enough to wear the tweed haha...

Add Fink cotton pea coat, from UO.

I don't really have much to say about this. I love the contrast of the volume of the tweed coat and super slim jeans (thanks for the idea 00o00). I wish it weren't 9000 degrees outside and I could wear my little coat but alas I live in Florida haha.

I think I'm going to karaoke tonight! Woo hoo yay!

bye guys :)

shenanigans and such...

Denim blazer, belt, oxfords, all vintage. Shorts, Gap. Shirt, American Eagle. Bow-tie, Ben Sherman. Watch, UO.

My mom, my cousin, Panda, and I had outdoor wine and cocktails this evening. I took a few pictures of one of my new blazers. It's denim! I think this will be good for the spring/summer. It's super light weight and very fitted. I know I said I was planning an editorial but that hasn't actually materialized yet, haha. I'm hoping to have something more fun for the other blazer. I'll keep you guys updated.

The Trials of my Life...

Tweed overcoat, tartan shirt, v-neck sweater, oxfords, braided belt and bowtie, all vintage. Khakis, Obey. Watch, UO

I found this coat a few years ago and even though I practically swim in it I bought it anyways. I loved the huge lapels and extended length double breasted look, and the tweed... oh the tweed!

I gave it to my mom after I bought it and she said she'd take in the waist for me so that it fit better. Two years later I find the thing hanging in her closet unaltered and decided to just bring it home, haha. My mother is a busy woman so I can't really blame her lol. Plus it's not like I really need a coat like this living in Florida. I guess I just saw this and wanted it regardless of wether or not I need it, oh shopping haha.

I thought maybe if it had a belt it would work. Then I thought maybe I could add one of my own belts. This might be kind of weird to take off when I got wherever I was going though haha... who knows? What do you guys think?

Added faux croc belt and grey leather duffel, both vintage.

Oh, and here's a close up of the bow-tie. I bought it at the Hell's Kitchen flea market in New York. Isn't it sexual? Umm, I mean dignified lol

Thrifted Shirt, Thrifted Tie.

This is a shirt/tie combo I recently bought. I was getting ready for work and decided to have an improptu macbook photoshoot. It turned out kind of shitty but don't you love the pattern on the tie? It's so 70's...I die. It's vintage Pierre Cardin. The shirt is vintage as well. I thought they looked nice together. The watch is from Urban Outfitters, I mean Rolex, clearly. Now, off to fold clothes and organize mountains of ballet flats for 94875 hours.

What I Wore to the Moovies...

I went to the movies tonight with my family and THIS is what I wore. The outfit as a whole is pretty boring if you ask me but I LOVE this scarf! I just bought it yesterday. It's from Urban Outfitters and it's huge, haha. It's actually a real Keffiyeh (it says so on the tag!) and is supposedly somewhat controversial. Apparently, it used to be sold at Urban as the "anti-war" scarf but then they had to pull it and rename it the "desert scarf." Geesh, you can read all about the Keffiyeh here...

The rest of my outfit is American Apparel and then suede boots are J. Crew.

I'm somewhat disappointed with myself right now. No, not just because I'm such a hippo that these two awkward shots are the only ones I would dare post online, but because this outfit is SO boring. The scarf is the only thing I find remotely interesting! Hmm... this is intolerable! As my soul mate Mary-Kate Olsen says: "everything I do has to be visually appealing to me."

I'm going thrfiting tomorrow (and the rest of the week) with the goal of finding something a little more visually provocative... a kilt would be exciting!

I will update with my finds as I acquire them!

I've been wearing this for a few days now...

I wore this outfit for about 4 days straight... disgusting I know (oops). However, in my defense, I had to work all day everyday for like 4 days in a row... and I really like this look. I'm wearing a cotton pea coat by Fink that I recently bought at Urban Outfitters. It looks like a traditional pea coat but it's made out of sweatshirt material. I paired this with a maroon cardigan with gold buttons, my favorite XXL gray t-shirt, and a plaid wool scarf, all vintage. My briefcase is vintage Tumi. The jeans are Levi's and the suede boots are from J. Crew.

This ensemble was so comfortable that it actually felt like I was in my PJ's all day. I think the pea coat made it look a little more structured than it actually was, haha. The bag is sooo cool up close! It has all sorts of water stains and pen marks... clearly from the drunken board meetings it used to attend... I mean...

In other news, I haven't updated in almost two weeks because I've been celebrating the fact that... I GOT ACCEPTED TO MEDICAL SCHOOL!! Ahhh! I've been on cloud nine!

When I started the whole application process I seriously considered withdrawing my application because I thought I had no chance of getting in... especially after Dr. Wackerly, the head of the Biology major at UF, looked at my transcripts and asked me if I was "expecting to impress anyone with that?" Jerk...

Ok... now that I'm done having my celebrations every 5 seconds I'm going to update more frequently... pinky promise

bye lovers!

Sexual Seduction Karaoke

My cousin and I went to Karaoke the other night. I decided to go all out and wear an ascot. I looked a little ridiculous until we decided to sing a country song and then I looked ridiculously ridiculous... haha that's what karaoke is all about, right?

My sweater, shirt, belt, and shoes are all vintage. The ascot is from J. Crew and I think it's actually supposed to be a women's scarf. My jeans and watch are from Urban Outfitters. Sex hair courtesy of Cole Mohr... I mean, Redken.

In other news I leave for Tampa tomorrow. I have an interview at USF College of Medicine on Monday and it lasts from 7:30AM - 3:30PM. I will be sporting my disgusting interview suit, which I absolutely abhor, for the entire 8 hours (barf). Luckily for me, most pre-meds aren't exactly fashion forward so I kind of fit in.

I want to find a new suit before my next interview (Boston University) and possibly a new bow tie! I'd love to show up in a bow tie and bamboozle everyone!

I haven't been posting much as of late because my internet at home is chronically ill. I am currently blogging live from Panera.

Later bitches.

I have to go hunting... job hunting that is...

Ugh since the retail market is plummeting I'm not getting any hours at work and thus I need a new job. I just got all dressed up in my Sunday's Best to go try to convince people to employee me. Ugh, can't Karl just adopt me, seriously. Since I like to procrastinate doing any real work I decided to have a photoshoot featuring me, of course...

I'm wearing a shirt I bought in the kids department at Kohls (lol), Levi's jeans, a vintage Oscar de la Renta tie, Urban Outfitters watch, and my favorite vintage oxfords. I took a close up of the oxfords so you could see all the little details that make them sooo so amazing! I'm hoping this look comes off as young professional instead of just young... I hate this.

Off I go, into the world of job hunting. I also need to go scour the bars of downtown Jacksonville to see if they have my phone, oops. Then I'm going to return a Bob Dylan shirt that I borrowed.... and hopefully score a glass of wine...
