On Layering...

Jeans, Levi's. Mock neck shirt, ByCorpus. Oxford shirt, Kohls. Bow-Tie, Marc Jacobs. Belt and shoes, vintage.

Added a vintage corduroy blazer.

Add vintage plaid scarf.

I'm wearing this to go drop off an application to volunteer at the children's hospital and then to the movies later on tonight (I'm seeing Bride Wars! I mean...). Since it's like -90 degrees out I had to do some serious layering. Ugh, let's hope I don't get frost bite.

later :)

Romeo had Juliet...

... but give me three sweeties and a new corvette

Plaid shirt and braided belt, both vintage. Bomber Jacket, Zara. Jeans, Levi's 511. Shoes, Vans.

This is what I wore to the Mickey Avalon concert. I was going to wear something super grungy but I called the guys I was going with and they were both wearing blazers and ties (why I don't know?). So I had a change of plans. I had already been pre-drinking so I can't really describe why I chose these specific pieces but I did (haha). Regardless, I like the way this look turned out.

I wish we had taken a few photos of us the night of the concert because Lauren and my cousin Chelsea both looked super sexual. Lauren wore Givenchy wedges and no pants, enough said. The concert would have been more fun if the place wasn't packed with the typical morons that inhabit the Jacksonville area, however, a few of my UO coworkers showed up which was a nice surprise.

In other news, I have been glued to my computer the past few days following style.com and the Fall 2009 men's shows. I feel like this season has exhibited a lot more wearability than past seasons, probably a result of the recession and crashing retail markets (however, I'm not exactly an economist so don't mind me). Also, there has been a velvet explosion over in Milan. I am somewhat relieved by this bc a few weeks ago style.com declared velvet blazers the worst things of 2008 and I was mortified as I have been sporting mine like it's nobody's business. Clearly, I was just ahead of my time lol.

Lauren suggested that I do a "Runway, My Way" post and I think I'm going to try to do this in the near future! But if it turns out stupid I will save myself the embarrassment and just post about the shows without my personal interpretations.

bye bitches

p.s. why does it feel like Alaska outside?

Costume of the day...

Blue velvet blazer, grey sweater, silk scarf/ascot, boots, and bag, all vintage. Grey skinny jeans, American Apparel. Watch, Urban Outfitters.

I actually dressed for the weather today (haha). I guess this would be what I'm wearing tonight considering I've been inside all day doing laundry and cleaning (i.e. watching tv and eating). When I was putting together this outfit I had an image of the Fall 08 Gucci ads in my head. However, it didn't really turn out like I had imagined haha. Occasionally, I freak out because I have so much crap that I never wear and then I force myself to wear it... that's what happened today.

I found this scarf thing at the thrift store and fell in love with it, however, I had no clue how I would wear it. The colors are really beautiful. I tried to take a close up of it but got more of my gigantic head than of the scarf haha.

Additionally, I think I've only worn these boots twice before even though I really love them. They kind of look like traditional oxfords but in boot form.

Anyways, I hope that you are all having a wonderful tuesday. I am going to hang out with my lover tonight and then I have to work at 4:30AM tomorrow... no, that was not a typo. We're doing inventory tomorrow and I want to kill myself. Of course, since the retail market is crashing I get no hours these days and I have to take what I can get. I can't wait until I'm a doctor and I have the opposite problem. bleh.

In other news, the recent temperature drop is totally ruining my dreams of a grunge themed Mickey Avalon concert outfit. It is supposed to get down to 27 degrees that night! I wish I had a shrunken leather bomber, that would be sexual. I just remembered that we had some women's bomber's at work that fit me pretty well... maybe I will look in to it! Besides these petty sartorial conundrums, I am super excited because Lauren is coming into town on Thursday and I can't wait! Expect another photoshoot!

later guys :)

I almost wore this today...

Plaid short sleeve button down, bow-tie, loafers, and bag, all vintage. Shorts from the Gap.

So I woke up this morning expecting it to be hot out (just like yesterday) and pick out this dashing little number. I was greatly disheartened when I walked out and froze my little stumpy legs off. I immediately ran back inside and bundled up...thus ruining my lovely outfit :(

J.Crew Cardigan, Target Scarf.

I hate Florida weather!

EDIT: Here's a close up of the tie/shirt. I bought the tie at the Hell's Kitchen flea market when I was in New York this summer. I love how it's so skinny and kind of silvery... it makes it speical, I think!

I need this...

I need to stop being such a disaster before I go to medical school. I feel that this book would help me learn the ways of gentlemanly behavior. I'm pretty sure being a drunk circus clown isn't listed in the book lol. Oh geez...

happy sunday lovers

Look what I bought...

So I went thrifting yesterday with some of my lovers from Urban and I bought these two ties! I love the super skinny paisley tie because it has a very large graphic print and it's such a thin tie. I think the large paisley mixes nicely with the smaller plaid on the shirt.

Now, this other tie is quite a piece of work lol. I'm not really sure when or where I'll wear it but after I saw it I just had to have it in my collection. It kind of reminds me of something an old woman would wear... or a clown. Who knows hopefully I'll find something to wear it to. I'm not really sure if I like it with this shirt but I figured the thing was so ridiculous it didn't really matter what I wore it with haha.

In other news, I realized that my Mickey Avalon outfit was not very practical as I would probably die of a heat stroke if I wore that thing. Then again I've never been very practical when it comes to picking out clothing... like when I insisted on wearing a turtle neck and cardigan to my third grade field trip to Sea World. I sweated the entire time but I totally loved all the pictures haha. I think I'm going to just wear a grungy slouch t-shirt with skinny jeans and vans. We'll see.

Scarf Special

I'm just posting about the scarf I wore out to karaoke a few nights ago. I took some pictures while I was out in my yard the other day that I thought they really highlighted all the things I love about the scarf, in particular. I bought it a few months ago at the thrift store. I'd like to think it used to belong to some old lady who bought it on a south american hiking expedition, but sadly, I'm sure the story behind it isn't that exciting. Regardless, I still love the coloring and how the pattern looks slightly native american or something (I am 1/8 cherokee Indian, I would know haha).

Sorry I haven't really had any super exciting outfits to post on. I haven't been doing anything except working lately. However, Lauren is coming next week so expect tons of exciting new posts!
